We use 520 chain. Yes any 520 chain will work however there are chains designed with a high tensile strength. These chains stretch less and last longer. I have yet to see a chain snap however we have see clip style links fail!!!

Recommendation!
If you are using the clip style master link please remove it and toss it in the trash. Everyone
needs to be running a rivet style link that doesn't have the clip. We have found that when you roll the car backwards the clip link occasionally catches on the chain guide and gets knocked off. An $8 part just cost you the race, and possibly an engine. Pictures for reference. Most of you are running a 520 non o-ring chain and your local motorcycle shop or Amazon can provide you with a replacement. If you have upgraded your chain to an o-ring chain then buy the link that matches your chain. If you can’t find it, need help, let me know or I’m sure one of the drivers will offer to help.
