Following the 5/18/19 Sharp Chassis Tech Inspection Briefing, the results from the 6 tire samples are in. Sample 19-1498 came back as “Does not conform to the benchmark.” The duplicate sample was tested by the lab with the same result. The two other competitor’s tires that raced on the same track, the same night, came back “conforming to the benchmark.”
This is the competitor’s 2nd Tire Offense this season.
Per Rules 2.3 and 2.4:
2.3 Chemical alterations of any tires are strictly prohibited.
2.4 Tire softeners or conditioners which alter the chemical compound of the tire will NOT be permitted. This includes, but is not limited to, tire soaking, siping, internal applications or the use of tread softeners. This will be strictly enforced.
Infractions to these rules follow Rule 23.2 under the Penalty Definitions Section:

Following the initial results for the tire samples taken that night, two additional samples were taken to confirm the results. Both additional samples came back as “Does not conform to the benchmark.”
In addition to the above penalties, per Rules 21.9 and 21.11, the team is banned from participation in any SHARP Mini Late Model event, with any SHARP Mini Late Model team for any SHARP Mini Late Model event for the duration of the penalty, effective starting June 13, 2019 (6/13/2019) and ending June 12, 2020 (6/12/2020).
Rules 21.9 and 21.11:
21.9 Officials reserve the right to increase the above penalties, depending on the severity of the incident.
21.11 Disciplinary action may also include, but is not limited to, the right of the series organizers and officials to suspend either temporarily, or permanently, any driver, team member or team sponsor, whose actions, in the sole opinion and discretion of the series organizers and officials, may have resulted in, or may result in, harm or detriment to the SHARP MINI LATE MODEL Organization and or SHARP Engineering LLC
