Are you wore out at the end of a race? There could be several factors that play into this. There are over 80 cars out and about and only a handful have power steering or the racks identified below. We are continuously looking for ways to make the cars better and more appealing to the masses. Here is some stuff we discovered. Setup: You can remove caster by extending the lower rod and or shorting the upper radius rod. The less caster you have the easier the steering will be. Be sure to resquare your front axle. On the flip side the less caster the less weight jacking you have. 5 degrees is reasonable starting point You can run upwards of 20 degrees of caster if you have power steering or slower rack. Rack Ratio: The standard rack we us is the same rack that Hyper Racing uses in all their micros. Due to the seating position and steering wheel angle its difficult to steer with a small steering wheel. You can opt for a larger steering wheel or switch to a slower rack. The 16-500 Hyper rack is 4.8" of travel for one turn of the wheel. We searched high and low and found out that Sweet Manufacturing offers a rack that is a bolt on replacement for the hyper rack. We are trying to get the MFG of the Hyper rack to make us a similar ratio rack as the Sweet MFG rack. The Sweet rack is 2.75" of travel for one turn of the steering wheel. This results in easier steering and less sensitive. You have to turn the wheel further but everyone who has tested likes the Sweet rack and says its a vast improvement over the stock hyper rack. The Sweet Rack sells for $460 plus shipping. This is higher than the $299 hyper rack. If you order the stuff to make the switch to the Sweet rack through us we should be able to save you a few dollars and headache. The parts needed for the swap are: Sweet Mfg. 033-27114 Micro Sprint Rack and Pinion 2- 12" 3/8 Steering Rods with rod ends 02-120 4- 3/8x1.75" grade 8 bolts and poly nuts 2- Hillman Brad-Hole Tee Nut, 3/8 in.-16 x 7/16 in. SKU #329029899 (tractor supply) 2-3/8 washers (small OD to act as shims for outboard steering) Power Steering Power steering has it pros and cons. Pro its the easiest of them all in terms of steering effort. Con its the easiest of them all. I personally like to be connected to the track and with power steering its very easy to loose track of the steering wheel there is limited feedback. Its almost to easy. Cost to switch to power steering is $700-1200 depending on which unit you choose. You can not buy just the unit and install. All units currently require additional parts to install which we can provide. Jamsteer: Heavier, Robust, Cheaper, adjustable Require modification to the dash, custom mount bar, custom steering shaft to connect to the rack Hyper Unit: Easier to install, not as robust, uses stock steering shaft, custom mount Just wanted to add to the forum and hopefully answer a few questions. Hope this helps. Feel free to provide some feedback , testimonials or ask questions below.

Some of you have experienced the universal joint coming loose on the steering shaft. The universal joints are supplied to us with setscrews. Vibration will cause the screw to back loose. We installed them with red locktight from the shop but if you check them or move the setscrew the locktight is no longer doing its job. I stumbled across a picture of Hyper Racing's house car. Take a close look at the picture. They replaced the setscrew with a socket head cap screw and used a thin jam nut to clock the bolt down. I highly recommend you doing the same. Hardware needed for the fix- 1/4-28 Socket head cap screw (3/4-7/8" Long) 1/4-28 thin jam nut You need 8 total. Hope this helps and if you cant find them locally let me know and I will gladly ship some out.

https://whynotmotorsportspark.com/ Lets discuss the details on here. I dont want this to conflict with the Series. The dates overlap due to existing schedules. Im trying to pull 4 cars behind my truck on a single open trailer. We need to pull 8-10 cars from our area. I can probably locate an additional trailer that will haul 4 more. We can all stay at the same hotel if we book the rooms now. It could be the Sharpest spot at Whynot. Lets flush out the details on here.

Hyper went to the X7 design on their new cars and we opted to use them on the left rear of the car to allow additional droop. We retained the X6 plate on the right to allow more RR compression. This was to prevent the shock form bottoming out. Coil binding on the RR is illegal and using the shock as a stop will damage the shock. It is highly recommended that you do not use an extension of any kind on the right rear. You do not want the shock to bottom out.

In order to have a community where everyone can feel at ease and comfortable, the following Code of Conduct applies to each forum on our site.  This is intended to be a resource, not a battleground.   The Golden Rule "Post unto others, as you would have them post unto you"...  In other words, think about what you are saying and what you have typed before hitting the Enter Key. Be respectful of your fellow members! Code of Conduct Flaming or harassing or threatening another member is not allowed nor will it be tolerated. Profanity is not permitted, everybody slips once in a while...  The occasional "hell", "damn", "ass" etc... are fine, just not every other word of each post. Spamming and cross forum posting are not allowed. Posting of links to Pornographic sites is not permitted. Posting of pornographic or overtly sexual images is not acceptable. Arguing your point with a moderator or refusing to do, or stop doing  something a Moderator has asked you about, will not be tolerated.  If you have an issue with a Moderator, arguing with him or her on the forum is not a smart move. Screen names, avatars, links of an offensive or suggestive nature will not be tolerated and may be removed at Administrators discretion. Posting of personal information (i.e., phone numbers, addresses, employment) within topics is not suggested. Posting competitive products is not allowed. The following subjects well not be tolerated as topics for conversation: Politics Race Sexual Orientation Driver Bashing BREAKING THE RULES Any Violations of the Code will result in the punative actions described below. In order to keep things simple we use a "Three Strikes System" for enforcing the rules. Strike One is a verbal (posted) and email warning from an Administrator or Moderator, which  may direct you to make amends or apologize for your actions to another member or at the very least clean up your own mess. Strike Two is the suspension of posting privileges for a minimum of two weeks, but may be longer, depending on the nature of the problem.  You will be notified by email of the suspension. Re-instatement is not automatic. In order to have your privileges re-instated at the end of the suspension period.  YOU will need to request re-instatement of your posting privileges in an email to the Moderator of the forum that the incident occurred on and the Administrators. Strike Three is a suspension of "all" privileges and may include banning from the SC community. This is irrevocable. Also please refer to our rule book for drivers and crews. Penalties may be assessed for over the top negative use of this forum. This is intended to be a resource, not a battleground.

We use 520 chain. Yes any 520 chain will work however there are chains designed with a high tensile strength. These chains stretch less and last longer. I have yet to see a chain snap however we have see clip style links fail!!! Chain Link Recommendation! If you are using the clip style master link please remove it and toss it in the trash. Everyone needs to be running a rivet style link that doesn't have the clip. We have found that when you roll the car backwards the clip link occasionally catches on the chain guide and gets knocked off. An $8 part just cost you the race, and possibly an engine. Pictures for reference. Most of you are running a 520 non o-ring chain and your local motorcycle shop or Amazon can provide you with a replacement. If you have upgraded your chain to an o-ring chain then buy the link that matches your chain. If you can’t find it, need help, let me know or I’m sure one of the drivers will offer to help. DO NOT USE THESE USE THESE!!

In Freq Asked Question
Are all the chassis made from one builder? All SHARP chassis currently come from SHARP ENGINEERING LLC. Bumpers, Nerf Bars, Bodies, etc. can be reproduced locally by a dealer providing an endless supply of parts. Can I build a chassis to your specs and race? All of SHARP chassis will come with a serial number that will be documented. This is the ONLY chassis allowed to run in series. Any chassis that has been modified will be banned for all future series races. We know where our tabs and pickup suspension points are. This will be the only chassis style made. Yes we may add or take away a bar for safety but we will never change any suspension point. This takes away from always having to upgrade like we see in go karts and big cars. What about the spoiler upgrade? There is a maximum spoiler height in our rule book on our web site. Spoiler upgrade is to ease the adjustability of the inclination angle of the spoiler. The case package spoiler is riveted so you have to drill to change the angle. Upgrade allows full adjustability. What about performance upgrades? No performance upgrades are offered in the series. All upgrades are aesthetics or safety oriented. In conjunction to this we suspect innovation will occur with setups, and if a setup based upgrade is discovered it will be offered to existing car owners at cost. (Example: wishbone geometry changes from bolt on component) Are the engines new and sealed? Our engines are used. We inspect and check them out, conduct a leak down test, etc., and seal the crankcase and the cylinder head with tamper proof seals that have documented serial numbers on them. We also are doing some things with the wiring harness and ECU. Our series rules have more details about this. If you'r found guilty of tampering with this you will be banned for the remainder of season. The next time you are banned forever from the series. Why is the 06-07 600cc GSXR an upgrade? 06-07 motor upgrade is not a performance upgrade. From the factory, the advertised horsepower is a 10 HP increase over the 04-05. We have provisions in place to track balance the two engines. We have updated the tune on the 04/05 to make it compartable to the 06+ and unified the rev limiters. They perform very close to the same. Any variation visible on the track is due to engine freshness.  What if I own a stock engine and want to use it? If you have an engine you would like to use just send it to us. We will check it, make sure it's legal and seal it for you for a small fee. (See Rules Forum for further clarification) Hopefully this answers a few circulating questions.

Radiator Fan shroud and Air Dam There are several different ways to keep these motors cool but this is one way that we have found to work. By putting a 4 to 5-inch shroud on the front of the radiator, any air that is in front of the radiator will have to go through the radiator. It is held in place on the top by drilling a half inch hole and placing it under the rubber grommet of the radiator hold down. The bottom is held in place with two zip ties through the corners of the shroud and around the pegs on the bottom of the radiator. The air dam on the front will kick up any air that is going under the car forcing more air into the radiator. The pictures below show an example of how you could mount everything. Instead of drilling into the frame to attach the air dam, you should use hose clamps or some other mean of attachment.
